Paul Breloff 
Managing Director, Venture Lab

Paul Breloff is the founding managing director of the Accion Venture Lab. He has advised CGAP (an independent research center focused on financial inclusion and housed at the World Bank) on policy and technical issues related to branchless banking and has been engaged by Root Capital, Shell Foundation, BRAC, and others on access-to-finance issues in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Previously, Paul worked with SKS Microfinance, India’s largest microfinance institution, leading business development and strategic initiatives and assisting on capital raising. While at SKS, he led new product launches and managed strategic partnerships across mobile/mobile banking, energy, education, water, and rural distribution. He has also practiced corporate law with Mayer Brown, worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Co., and worked as an advertising account executive for Leo Burnett.

Paul has a bachelor of arts from Amherst College and a law degree from Yale Law School.


Tahira Dosani
Director of Portfolio Engagement, Venture Lab

Tahira Dosani is the Director of Portfolio Engagement at Venture Lab, working with portfolio companies to extend their impact and profitability. She previously led strategic projects, partnerships and communications at LeapFrog Investments, an emerging markets profit-with-purpose fund focused on insurance and related financial services for emerging consumers. Prior to that, Tahira worked as Director of Strategy at the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. Based in Dubai, she drove strategic initiatives for portfolio companies and led new investments in South and Central Asia and the Middle East. She also worked in Kabul at Roshan, Afghanistan’s leading telecommunications operator, where she was Head of Corporate Strategy. Tahira began her career as a management consultant with Bain & Company. She has also worked on various education and health initiatives in Pakistan, Tanzania, Kenya, and Egypt.

Tahira holds bachelors of arts in International Relations and Computing and Human Development from Brown University and an MBA from INSEAD.


Jackie Hyland
Senior Investment Analyst, Venture Lab

Jackie Hyland is a senior investment analyst with Venture Lab, supporting the team’s global deal activity and portfolio engagement from DC. Prior to joining Accion, Jackie was an investment analyst at Compass Group Asset Management in Mexico City where she was part of the real estate private equity team. Jackie also worked at Angel Ventures Mexico as a Fulbright Binational Business Scholar, where she managed deal analysis and strategic entrepreneurial initiatives with the local entrepreneur ecosystem. Previous to that, Jackie founded a women’s entrepreneurial mentoring program in Panama in partnership with Vital Voices and the U.S. State Department’s Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas initiative. Jackie began her career working for a local health and development non-profit in Panama, leading business and microfinance projects in rural communities.

Jackie holds a bachelor of arts in International Relations and Journalism from Baylor University and a graduate certificate in Business from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).


Rishabh Khosla
Senior Investment Analyst, Venture Lab

Rishabh Khosla is a senior investment analyst with Venture Lab, supporting the team’s global deal activity and portfolio engagement from DC. Prior to joining Accion, Rishabh was a management consultant at Bain and Company for three years, where he supported a diverse array of client projects in financial services, industrial goods and services, and healthcare in the US, Europe, and India. In college, Rishabh interned at development-orientated think-tanks, conducted and published extensive field research on rural governance in India, and edited a student-run international affairs publication. Rishabh is originally from India, has lived in Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United States and speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, and Persian.

Rishabh holds a bachelor of arts in Political Science from Yale University.


Alex Martin
Program Coordinator, Venture Lab

Alex Martin is the Program Coordinator with Venture Lab, supporting the fund’s global operations, deal activity, and portfolio support from DC.  Prior to joining Accion, Alex worked as a public finance analyst at Evercore partners in Mexico City as a Fulbright Binational Business Scholar. Previous to that, Alex interned with Cisco Systems, where he worked on change management and operations documentation projects. In college, Alex was a Shelton Caldwell Fellow and worked at the Shelton Leadership Center. There, he became a founding member of PROMESA, a sustainable agriculture program for high school students in Honduras. Alex is a Kiva volunteer translator and a guest lecturer for international development courses, where he explains the fundamentals of financial inclusion.

Alex holds a bachelor of science in Business Administration and a bachelor of arts in International Studies from North Carolina State University and a graduate certificate in Business from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). 


Amee Patel
Senior Investment Officer, Venture Lab

Amee Patel is a senior investment officer with Venture Lab, leading the team’s deal activity and portfolio engagement in Africa. She was most recently an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, serving public, private, and social sector clients focused on financial services and international development. Previously, Amee worked in business development at SKS Microfinance, India’s largest microfinance institution. In that role, she designed new product lines in credit and microsavings, tested new technologies and platforms, and worked on the company’s initial public offering. Amee has consulted a number of financial inclusion enterprises, including Root Capital, Jipange Kusave and Grameen Bank, and co-founded a web-based platform that empowered students in the U.S. to manage and repay their student loans.

Amee has a bachelor of arts in Political Science and Economics from Davidson College and an MBA from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.


Vikas Raj
Director of Investments, Venture Lab

Vikas Raj is the Director of Investments at Venture Lab, leading the group’s work on sourcing, evaluating and structuring investments. Prior to joining Accion, Vikas worked in investment banking at Evercore Partners, where he advised on multiple corporate transactions with aggregate value of over $45 billion. Previously, Vikas worked in microfinance, primarily in India, at Ujjivan and Catalyst Microfinance Investors (CMI). At Ujjivan, Vikas co-led the establishment of the firm’s first lending branches in Delhi and helped lead the firm’s Series B financing round. At CMI, Vikas was responsible for establishing and investing in the Fund’s greenfield MFIs in India, Nigeria and the Philippines. Vikas also co-led Columbia Business School’s student-run Microfinance Investment Fund. Vikas started his career at Deloitte Consulting, where he was in the Corporate Strategy group.

Vikas has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University.
